Somnath Baidya Roy is currently the Head of the Centre for Atmospheric Sciences (CAS). He joined CAS in December 2013, after more than 18 years of research and teaching career in the United States. Somnath's research areas are modeling land-atmosphere interactions and renewable energy meteorology. He currently serves as the Chief Editor of Earth System Dynamics, a journal of the European Geosciences Union (EGU) and a co-convenor of Energy Meteorology of the EGU General Assembly.
