Description
As a Prime Minister’s Research Fellow (PMRF) at the Centre for Atmospheric Sciences, IIT Delhi, I study how specific PM2.5 species influence climate and public health across South Asia. Using multi-sensor satellite data (CALIPSO, CloudSat, and CERES), I examine the vertical distribution of aerosols and their radiative impacts on the regional energy budget. I have developed a machine learning model that integrates MISR fractional AODs, CTM outputs, meteorological parameters, and land-use data to estimate high-resolution surface PM2.5 species concentrations. By linking these exposure maps with NFHS datasets, I quantify disparities in pollution exposure and generate evidence to support more equitable environmental policies in India.
